Other scholarships for single mothers include the Project Working Mom scholarship.  This scholarship, awarded by eLearners.com, pays full tuition for an online college.  The scholarship can also cover other costs such as books and other fees.

To receive federal student aid, it is important to file the Free Application for Student Financial Aid, or FAFSA.  When you file the FAFSA, you will be matched to federal student aid that you qualify for according to your financial need.  The results from your FAFSA application can also make you qualify for other financial aid from your school and other organizations.

A great benefit of filing the FAFSA is that you can qualify for the Pell Grant.. The Pell Grant is essentially money which you don’t have to pay back.  If you find yourself in a situation where you need to take out loans, then you may be able to qualify for subsidized Stafford or Perkins student loans.  These loans have lower interest rates, which will save you money in the long run.

Another great way to receive financial aid for single mothers is to find out what local organizations in your city or town provide aid for nontraditional students seeking a degree at the collegiate level.  If you work for a Fortune 500 company, many of these provide financial aid for their employees to continue their higher learning.

It is just a matter of time before you find more financial aid to help with your studies.  Good luck!
